1. Write your appointments in it!
OK, so that's what you normally use a diary for and online diaries are no different.  You can fill the pages with appointments and, if you like, write out whole days for those important, all-day, seaside meetings.

Sharing a diary allows you to say who you want to see or edit it.  This is particularly useful for allowing others to check if you are free and, if you allow, write appointments for you.

3. Have more than one
This is somewhere that online diaries really score!  You might want a personal diary for you and your family, one just for your office appointments and then another for a project that you share with others and perhaps a final one that you keep just private for yourself.  Since online diaries exist in abundance on the web, it is possible to have as many as you want  - but don't overload on them!

4. Customise it
It's one of those basic laws of nature that we want to  take something and then customise it in order to make it our own.  Online diaries allow you to change colours, fonts and often the design so that you can make each diary a person one.

5. Instant access
It's so easy to keep your diary running minimised on the taskbar so that you can get at it instantly.  Online diaries use few system resources as they rely on an internet connection and being able to flip up your appointments whenever you like is much better than trying to find a paper diary under a pile of papers.

6. Delete what you like
Unlike paper based diaries, it's easy to delete or change an item.  That allows you much more freedom to use your diary for preparing projects or lists of things that you might want to do or reminders since they can be deleted at the press of a button. 

7. Use it wherever you are
But the biggest advantage of online diaries is that you can use them no matter where you are (but you need an internet connection).  This allows you to check appointments and even get at email addresses and telephone numbers when you are out of the office or travelling.  What's more, it will even works while you are sitting relaxing on the beach!
